Club Presents Mayor Ballard with Inscribed Hurley
On April 26 the Indianapolis GAA participated in an international sports expo at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The event was held by Indianapolis mayor Greg Ballard and hosted over 50 money-spending decision-makers of Indianapolis corporations to share the plans for the World Sports Park, which is currently under construction.

Representatives from the Indy GAA, Indianapolis Cricket Club, and Indiana Chapter of US Lacrosse were all present to help educate the attendees about their sports as well as the contributions each club has provided to the community. Vice Chairperson Andretta Erickson, Special Projects Chair David Littlejohn, Coach Ciaran Connery, and Brian Church were joined by Colm Egan,  NACB Chairman of Hurling Development, to help  ensure that the Gaelic games took center stage at the event.

The club also used the event as an opportunity to thank Mayor Ballard for his continued support by presenting him with a HandCraft hurley, which was engraved with the Indy GAA crest, Indianapolis city logo, and inscribed with the words “Presented to Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, in appreciation of your tremendous support of the Indianapolis GAA”.

Overall the event was a tremendous success, marking a great step forward in the promotion and awarness of the sports of hurling, camogie, and Gaelic football in the Indianpolis commnunity.
