A depleted Flynn's was the Indianapolis GAA's league opener against a substitute filled Renners team. However, even Renners ability to bring in fresh legs throughout the match was not enough to beat Flynn's. The game started off with a fierce battle to score the first point of the match. Flynn's captain Christopher "Chowda" Cox put several points wide from the half-back position throughout the match, and was only able to put four points on the board, all from frees. Flynn's also introduced two very promising league rookies, Reid Kercheval and Russ Hochstedler. Kercheval was the only rookie able to put a point over the bar for Flynn's from play, however both Kercheval and Hochstedler's speed was a determining factor in Flynn's decisive win. On the Renners side of things, Andy Hazel and Andretta Erickson were able to put goals into the net and bring Renners within one point of a draw with Flynns. However, the Flynns defense was too strong for any more resurgence from Renners. Ian Heraty was the strongest offensive player of Renners putting up 5 points, all from play.
Flynns: Albrecht, David 1-0, Cabeen, Tim 1-1, Cox, Christopher 0-4(4fr), Edwards, Katie 1-0, Kercheval, Reid 0-1, Tobin, Jonathan 1-0
Renners: Barszczowski, Phil 0-2, Erickson, Andretta 1-0, Hazel, Andy, 1-0, Heraty, Ian 0-5, Ludlow, Chris 0-1
