Indianapolis Camogie

Indy Hurling Club and the Indianapolis GAA are pleased to announce the introduction of camogie starting in 2010.

Our camogie program is an excellent opportunity for women to learn a new sport, and have fun doing it. Like its brother, the hurling league, Indy Camogie is comprised of a diverse set of members who contribute to the club's athletic and social presence. We welcome all comers to learn this exciting Irish game!

Within our club, women are welcome to play together with the men on the hurling teams. Some ladies prefer this level of competition, and the co-ed participation is encouraged. However, to offer more women a chance to learn and excel at one of Ireland's great Gaelic games, the leaders of the camogie program have been busy working to bring this opportunity to the Indianapolis community. The goals of the camogie program are to continue to grow in membership and strength, to have an active club league, and to participate in local, travel, and national championship tournaments and matches.

Whether familiar with the sport or just curious, we hope the women of Indianapolis will give it a try. No experience is necessary, or expected. And all ages are welcome!

To get involved, contact camogie@indygaa.com or check the calendar for upcoming practices.

Training is currently being held at Broad Ripple Park on Mondays: Optional conditioning at 6:30pm, Camogie at 7:00-8:30pm.

Players are also welcome (though not expected) to join the hurling practice on Wednesdays.

Up Indy Camogie!
