Indy GAA Holds Annual Awards Banquet
Club Hosts Its Largest Crowd Yet
This past Saturday, nearly 120 people gathered in the historic Grand Kellersaal Ballroom at The Rathskeller in downtown Indianapolis to celebrate another exciting year for the Indianapolis GAA.

As tends to be the norm these past few years, the club celebrated a very spirited and competitive pub league, with Goose the Marketing proving victorious, and tournament wins in both the St Louis & Indianapolis Invitationals. 2012 also marked the first year a Gaelic football team was sent to nationals, alongside our camogie and junior and senior hurling teams. If that weren't enough the season ended with a thrilling championship victory by our senior hurling team against Denver.

The event also marked the changing of the guard for the club's head coaching position. At the helm for 2013 will be Brien Shoemaker, who brings with him great passion for the Gaelic games and a strong enthusiasm for players' enjoyment and development. We would also like to extend a special thanks to outgoing coach, Ciaran Connery. The Indianapolis GAA would not be what it is today without his time, effort, and passion for the games, and for the club.

In addition to reflecting on these accomplishments, awards were also given in a number of categories, including the Silver Sliotar for best defense player, Bronze Hurley for best offensive player, and the Broken Hurley for the player who gave it everything and left it all on the field.
The 2012/2013 Indianapolis GAA Award Winners are as follows:

Most Improved - Jimmy Pepper
Rookie of the Year - Reid Kercheval
Camogie Silver Sliotar - Irene Lewis
Camogie Bronze Hurley - Tylyn Bremer
Hurling Silver Sliotar - Michael Patrick Monaghan
