It's that time again. Fall is officially upon us. The league play has ceased and the Quigley Cup claimed. We've travelled to Chicago, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and even claimed a national title!
We've had a few weeks off to reflect on the summer and it's time now to breathe new life onto the pitch.
Over the next few months, the club will focus on introducing new players to the great Gaelic games. We were fortunate to meet scores of curious attendees of Irish Fest last weekend and have a chance to introduce them to our club. Many tried their hand at hurling or Gaelic football in our hitting cage and field area. Many more signed up on our mailing list to have chances to learn about Indy Hurling up close.
Here comes the first chance. This Wednesday, September 19, is the first of a series of introductory practices geared specifically for new people interested in hurling and Gaelic football. The practices will be fun, flexible, and informal, with no experience or equipment necessary. The goal of the club is to introduce hurling and the other Gaelic games to our community, and we are happy to teach men and women of all ages. We will hold these practices at Broad Ripple Park
on Wednesdays, and matches at Eugene Burns Park on Fridays. The club calendar can be checked for details.
The coaches are looking forward to seeing all the new faces this Fall. We'll be there rain or shine!
Up Indy Hurling!
