The Battle for Supremacy of the 2 block street that both Good Earth & Connor's Pub share known as Sugarbob Lane started with little fanfare but ended in dramatic fashion. Good Earth took an early first half lead with tremendous scores by Dr. Landman, Mike the Monaghan and the Head Church himself, Brian. Connors battled back with some brilliant scores by Eoghan The Red Reade and a pair of goals by Klynt the Bruiser Bremmet, but still found themselves down on the scoreboard at halftime. After a very short halftime, due to the fading Indiana Sunset both teams came out and laid it all on the field. Heidar the Iceman Thor added a brilliant point and his brother Hjelti Volcano Thor made some great defensive stops. Both goalies protected their net well until Rudy Trooper landed two goals deep in the upper corner over a diving Brian Head Ref Mathes to put the game nearly out of reach...
But a late point and goal by Connor's tied the game with less than a minute to play. Both teams frantically vied for the ball, but somehow Church the Prolific raced the sideline and shot a buzzer beating point for a Narrow Victory.
And so the teams that share a Recycling Bin on Sugarbob Lane played one of the best games to date. We all look forward to the Broad Ripple Battle Part II.
