There was a feeling of thick humidity in the air as both Renner's & Good Earth took the field in their first meeting of the season. You could tell from the start that neither team was going to hold back, it was a "Now or Never" type of playoff atmosphere. The scores were all well contested, but Red Renners took the early first half lead pouring in 3 goals early by Dretta, Zak Kitchell & Mark McCabe. Unfortunately for the crowd of on-lookers there were more shoulders and words thrown then there were points in the first half of play. Yellow Cards were given out, but names will not be Named. The Second Half saw a quieter more focused team play from both squads. Good Earth battled their way out of a 5 point deficit with a great goal by Amanda Roche and a couple more by the animated Brian Church. Good Earth took the lead late in the game and didn't let up, even when Ian Heraty came out of goal to add a spark to the middle. Good Earth's defense held Renners to just 1 point in the second half with great hustle play by newbie Seth Bodden. When the final whistle blew both teams had put it all out on the field. A hard-fought battle to say the least. This will be a rematch worth watching.
