🏆 April Team Skills Challenge

March was a great month for our clubs Monthly Skills Competition. I know it’s tough not being on the field with each other but hopefully you felt some club esprit de corps and a connection to your teammates as we completed our challenges. I have my fingers crossed that this month’s challenge brings us one step closer to playing with each other soon.

March’s Winners

Hotel Tango rose to the trash talking of the pretenders to the throne to claim the football challenge and Skyline Roofing swooped in for the victory on the very last day in the hurling/camogie challenge.

This Month’s Challenge

Our hurling/camogie challenge involves the jab lift with a run/solo and our Gaelic football challenge is wall kicks. Please take a moment to view the videos below for all the details:

The Prizes

A $10 voucher for one of the club’s sponsors for all participating members of the winning team. In addition, all participating members of the team with the most participants will be entered into a drawing where one team member will win 2 passes to the Indianapolis Zoo!

Further Guidance

Please video and upload the recording to our Slack channels in the channel #monthlychallenges  and on social media. Please remember to mention your team and sponsor at some point in the recording and extra credit if you tag them too.

Don’t forget to enter your score here, or get someone on your team to do it for you, onto the Google Sheet linked below. THIS IS VERY A IMPORTANT STEP to ensure we can accurately tally the winners!

The challenge will end on April 30th, and a new challenge will then be launched for the month of May, hopefully bringing us one month closer to us getting together on the field again. This is a great opportunity for us all to practice our skills, stay connected and have some fun until we return to play.

I hope you all enjoy the virtual challenge and best of luck to everyone!

🏆 March Team Skills Challenge

We had a great start to our Monthly Skills Competition in February. It was great to see our fellow club members completing their challenges, and see each others faces, albeit virtual, again.

Claire Lane showed us all how to multitask , Liam Bonner showed off his chugging skills, and Nick Wilson showed what he really thinks of Gaelic Football 😂

February’s Winners

Congrats to Hope Plumbing who won the first round of the hurling team challenge and Bier Brewery who took the win for football.

This Month’s Challenge

Our hurling challenge involves 30 seconds to see how many times can you execute the roll lift pick-up and our Gaelic football challenge is to see how many solos & overhead catches that you can make in the same period of time.

In the spirit of Women’s History Month check out the videos below by multiple All-Ireland Senior Champions Mags D’Arcy (Camogie) and Sinéad Finnegan (Gaelic Football):

The Prizes

A $10 voucher for one of the club’s sponsors for all participating members of the winning team. In addition, all participating members of the team with the most participants will be entered into a draw where one team member will win a $10 voucher!

February Team Skills Challenge

Are you up for the challenge? Then let’s see what you’re made of. The intent of this challenge is to help  connect us as a club during the pandemic and also help our sponsors too. The time is here to show off those skills acquired, or possibly lost, during the winter months, beginning now!

The Challenge

How many times can you strike the sliotar or the Gaelic football off of the wall in 30 seconds? Check out the links below for instructions on how to complete this month’s challenge.

The Prizes

All participating members of the team with the most participants will be entered into a drawing to win a $10 gift card to one of club’s brewery sponsors. The sponsor will be chosen by the board in the next few days, so keep your eye out for an announcement!

Further Guidance

The challenge will remain live and scores will be recorded until the last day in February, and a new challenge will be launched in March.

Please record and upload a video to our social pages and/or Slack channel #monthlychallenges. Also remember to mention your team and sponsor at some point in the recording. If possible tag your team sponsor as well to help show your support!

Lastly, upload your score into the shared Google Sheet. It is all about the number of impacts on wall, it doesn’t matter if you let the sliotar or the Gaelic football (or any ball) drop! Just go for it for 30 seconds and let’s have some fun!
